Which head of the five-headed Democratic Party speaks for its constituents today? Five separate philosophies are running for the Presidency in '08 and each claim that it speaks for the party.
It time now to give a little therapy to each one of these heads and try to see (finally) which philosophy voters should consider before pulling that Republican-rigged lever.
Black and white differences envelop that party to such an extent that sheer hatred of the president seems to be the glue holding it together. Thus hatred and not a "unity of philosophy" is the single motivating factor in this upcoming election.
Consider:
First we have the doves, the anti-war crowd. They want peace. Spokesmen like Cindy Sheehan travel the world demanding a stop to all the fighting. John Edwards is their poster candidate followed by Obama. If this were 1968, this would be called the Peace Movement...and paisley would be the party color. Thus one head of the hydra consists of the "peace and love" set.
Second, we have the "cut and runners". This group feels that we have already lost, that we should retreat "over the horizon" to as far away as Okinawa if necessary and that our troops there are "under pressure" and also that a draft is necessary to continue operations. This is the "Murtha head" of the hydra.Pelosi and Reid are also charter members.
Third, we have the group that wants to partition Iraq into three parts: The Joe Biden group. This one even has one Republican hopeful saying the same thing now.
Fifth,we have the "no game planners". This group castigates the president on every single decision that is made in Iraq, and Monday morning quarterbacks everything, yet has failed until this very moment to put fourth an alternative plan. This is the Clinton head of the hydra.
Thus the five-headed hydra comprises the opposition...five diametrically opposed view points simultaneously claiming that they speak for their party.
So, before we pull the lever in November 2008,, I'd like to ask: Which one of these hydra-heads actually speaks for the Democratic Party?
Does anyone know? Should not the American people know before they pull that Republican-rigged lever?

The Surge Is Working (But Don't Tell The Democrats!)
PSST....NOT TOO LOUD...THE SURGE IS WORKING...DON'T TELL THE DEMOCRATS...
Progress is being made on a daily basis in Iraq, as Baghdad continues to get safer and the bad guys continue to get killed.
Don’t tell that to the Democrats, though, why screw up a perfectly good election season?
Listening to Obama, Hillary, John Edwards, not to mention Harry Reid and THAT crew, you would think that the American Forces have suffered complete annihilation in Iraq, and a Bataan-like scenario is unfolding.
A catastrophe there is just what the doctor ordered, they think. If Iraq is lost, then Bush's policy is finally dead, and they can coattail an election win on the outcome.
Obama and Hillary, or Hillary (with Bill, of course) and Obama will save the day.
Ya, right.
Truth is, that mid-level officer corps that the Iraqi Security forces so desperately need is taking shape.
On a daily basis, Iraqi forces are taking over, and their blood on the pavement is stark evidence of that statement.
Meanwhile, American diplomats are twisting arms to get the important oil-revenue issue squared away, and within weeks, that issue will be put to bed.
In Afghanistan, over 2,000 Taliban lay rotting in their graves, their so-called spring offensive dying a miserable death.
Trouble is, we have lost the war, according to the Democrats. Trouble is, we can't beat these guys. Trouble is we hate Bush, they say.
Nuts.
The real trouble is American politics. It serves the opposition well if things go bad, and that is what has happened in this case.
Maybe the civil war will drag on there...maybe partition is inevitable. It took years for a fledgling America to go from a revolutionary government to a democracy 231 years ago....I assume that if we have to wait another 5 years there that is out of the question, I guess.
Nope, what we wanted all along was an instant war...a Microwave War....done in 30 seconds.
Instead, the forces of Doom what to strangle that nascent seed that has sprouted over there. Hatred of the president...absolute hatred of the president...is the motivating factor....and to hell with what's really happening there.
Guess they don't see the threat against our way of life....that these folks won't stop until your momma, sister and wife wear a burka and you pray five times a day. Dump your Gillette stock I say, as razors will be thing of the past if either Hillary or Obama are elected.
Well, The Eagle has returned full of solid intel that is of a positive nature. US Forces are kicking butt, and bad guys are getting killed off everywhere.
Trouble is, we won't hear that story.
Except right here.

Bounce...Bounce..Bounce..
Looks like a Hillary-Rudy showdown is in the works...once the preliminaries are out of the way.
Trouble is, it looks like the Dems will pick up seats in the Senate next year, and the possibility is now very real that the new majority could overcome procedural Republican roadblocks now in place.
Rudy's best bet is to first get his side in order. By that I mean that he has to get the Christian Conservatives in line.....a monumental task considering his views on both the gay marriage and choice issues.
I think that in the final analysis they will come around considering the alternative of a Hillary presidency.
Rudy also needs to hammer the security issue . Despite the current administration's many mistakes made during the prosecution of the war, the one number that still has credibility is "zero"....that is how many attacks we have had on US soil since September 11,2001.
He also has to paint people like Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Jack Murtha, and the rest of the liberal Democratic cabal for what they are: impediments to success in Iraq.
The Democratic leadership said that we have "lost" this war....and this point must be hammered home to the voters time and again.
Repubs are strong with security....they must go with that.
Finally, a strong VP candidate is necessary. Mitt Romney, to me is the ideal choice. Despite the perceived shortcomings of his Mormon background, his strong moral background and his conservative views on social issues will play well with both the conservative right AND the conservative Regan Democrats.
Hillary/ Obama and Rudy /Mitt.
That is how I see it for now.
Of course, things can change in a blink of an eye in politics.

Hang 'Em High Murtha
How would you like to have old Jack Murtha as your local "Hang 'Em High" judge?
Yup... the same guy who had a bunch of Marines lynched in the media a few months ago.....
Hey Jack......Don't you think you should say you are sorry?
What a disgrace. CONGRESSMAN Jack Murtha called a bunch of Marines murderers over the Haditha thing a few months ago.......before they had their day in court.
That is not what the Marine investigator concluded, however.
How's them apples,Jack?
Now, at best, and as predicted right in this very Eagle's Nest months ago......not a single Marine will be convicted of murder!
Murtha and his tirade took place when things were tough in Iraq.....and his press conferences served only to motivate the enemy at a sensitive time in the war....remember, every word of his was blasted on every jihadist web site from here to Timbuktu.
Plus, every Democrat pointed to that incident as proof that we were "losing"
Right, Harry?
Well, the Might Eagle has one word for Jack:
Nuts.
Boy oh boy ...how the mighty have fallen, huh Jack?
Plus, the surge worked, you buffoon.
Anyway, thus spin the wheels of fate.
Hopefully voters will remember this guy...and his party leadership...who did everything possible to lose this war...including selling Marines down the river....all for cheap partisan reasons.
The Rule of law be damned. Innocent until proven guilty be damned.
Thus spoke CONGRESSMAN Jack Murtha.
Ya, right.

New Home For The Eagle
Welcome to the nest of the Mighty Sicilian Eagle.
The old Eagle got the boot from Watchblog.com recently, yet he still has a lot to say.
This forum will serve as place where the Eagle can rant (if he so desires) or ruminate.
The important thing though is that he will speak freely, with no constraints.
As the Iraq War beats on, and as the '08 Election nears, the Mighty Eagle will show his talons and speak his mind in an unfettered fashion!
